The leading international lighting fair, Light + Building, is routinely held every two years. Due to the pandemic, it was postponed several times before returning this year in a one-off special edition. The reopening after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus was a success: 1,531 exhibitors from 46 countries joined for the exclusive autumn edition to present their products in all 12 halls. We of Flussirari were among them at our first unforgettable participation. During the event, a total of 92,838 visitors from 147 countries went to Frankfurt am Main. Along with Germany, most of the visitors came from Italy, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Great Britain, and Poland. Middle Eastern countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, were also very present.

In 2024 the fair will resume as usual with its spring edition. The next Light + Building will take place from 3 to 8 March 2024 in Frankfurt am Main.
The digital turning point of Light + Building
A first, the fair was not only held at the Frankfurt exhibition center but also online. On the Light + Building Digital Extension platform, exhibitors and visitors were able to get in touch with each other and expand their network based on intelligent matchmaking. This is still possible until October 14, 2022. Not only matches, lectures, debates, and presentations are also available on-demand on the platform.
The foundations of the future of lighting design
The sector dedicated to electrical engineering, home, and home automation, has mainly focused on technical innovations that increase energy efficiency in homes and buildings. Among the most growing fields, we certainly find renewable energy sources such as solar or photovoltaic panels, charging management systems for electromobility, and intelligent lighting control. Efficiency and sustainability have played a fundamental role in the lighting sector. High-quality modular lighting systems in combination with digital control will only be able to provide light when it is needed.
